The ninth “ Smemagold” painting is directly linked to the leopard gecko morph “Lemon Frost”. It was three works from that se- ries, characterised by the marked use of gold, that inspired the union of the two projects (“LF “ and “ SM”). This hybrid led to the
conception of a “Lemon Frost” made with Smemagold’s characteristic colours. The result is minimal, synthetic and in contrast to the previous paintings: where the idea of diffuse, dense horror vacui dominated, here a few elements with a strong figurative charge prevail, while the darkness gives the background the taste of a pictorial silence. It is finally the eye – the main and distinctive cha- racteristic of morph – that emerges as the great protagonist of the vision. The use of dripping underlines the precariousness of the morph’s existence.

Il nono dipinto "Smemagold" è direttamente collegato alla morfologia del geco leopardino "Lemon Frost". Sono state tre opere di questo genere, caratterizzate dall'uso marcato dell'oro, a ispirare l'unione dei due progetti ("LF" e "SM"). Questo ibrido ha portato alla
concezione di un "Lemon Frost" realizzato con i colori caratteristici di Smemagold. Il risultato è minimale, sintetico e in contrasto con i dipinti precedenti: dove dominava l'idea di horror vacui diffuso e denso, qui prevalgono pochi elementi dalla forte carica figurativa, mentre l'oscurità dà allo sfondo il sapore di un silenzio pittorico. È infine l'occhio - principale e distintivo cha- racteristico della morfologia - a emergere come grande protagonista della visione. L'uso del dripping sottolinea la precarietà dell'esistenza del morph.
